MEG - The Montgomery Energy Group
The Montgomery Energy Group has been running now for over three years. For more about the group's history please follow this link.
Coordinated by Mike Membery, (mikemem@phonecoop.coop, 01686 668643), the group usually meets once a month in the Activity Centre (Church Bank, Montgomery). Talks have been given and films shown on a very wide range of subjects - this year alone the group has heard about sustainable fishing, transport, food and biomass heating.
Activities are membership led, so please make your voices heard about what you would like to happen. This may be suggestions for:
• Supporting local public buildings to become more energy efficient
• Carbon foot-printing Montgomery as a town and setting ourselves a challenge for improvement
• Making use of the HES infra red camera to provide services for Montgomery residents
• Holding teach ins on making your home more energy efficient - practical demonstrations of draught stripping, installing radiator panels
• Trips to environmental schemes or visits to other environmental groups
To find out more about what we have done please follow this link. Also read about us in the Montgomery Crier or contact Mike.
Membership is open to all. Just let Mike know if it is your first time with us so you can be made welcome, or simply turn up. Attendance at most events is free, but donations are asked for.
We look forward to meeting you.
