About us
We have been helping all kinds of people cut carbon and fuel bills for five years. As part of our Big Green Challange submission we recorded average savings of 29% carbon per household and average savings of £380 off fuel bills per household.
We work in Welsh and English towns and valleys around Bishop's Castle, Knighton and Presteigne, Montgomery and Newtown. We train volunteers from these areas to make visits and gather data on your energy use. You can also choose to complete a data gathering form and submit it to us yourself. Our Energy Team, led by a professional Energy Officer, then provides you with your energy survey report giving you:
- Recommendations for energy saving measures you can take at home and on the move - including no cost / low cost energy saving tips
- Independent technical and grant advice on insulation, renewables, low impact transport etc.
- Signposting to other information sources.
- Ongoing support to take action.
We are proud to be local. That’s because of two important reasons:
Firstly, we are just round the corner … so you are dealing with people you can meet with and talk to directly.
Secondly, we care about the local environment and we understand the importance of supporting local services and the local economy. So when you ask us to for a builder or installer we will support local tradespeople. And when you need supplies, we can often find you good local deals.
We are also proud to run a professional service. We work hard to remain leaders in the field when it comes to energy saving at community level. In January 2010 we were announced as winners in the UK’s Big Green Challenge, sponsored by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts. We work closely with initiatives such as the Energy Saving Trust and Transition Towns.
